I'm not really into resolutions. Things change and there are going to be indecisive moments no matter what. However there's always the big 'To-Do' list. Unlike a resolution, that list can change as many times as you want without feeling guilty about it. I simply write down the things I need, want and wish to get done. I tend to write lists for each month, I guess you could also call them 'goals' for the month, if I don't complete one then I simply move it to the next month or change it up a bit. I have lots of different goals that I'd be very happy to complete, it also gives me that extra motivation to do the things I want to achieve.
My to-do lists will probably include the things I should have done last year. I know we shouldn't dwell on the past but last year was tough. I was too indecisive and I don't think I was really clear on what I was set out to do. No one ever really wants to make the same mistakes, so writing to-do lists will allow me to create a plan I can work on.
As well as writing a to-do list I have my journal. I had loads of pages left from 2015 so I have decided to split the journal up into 15/16, I didn't want to have to leave my diary unfinished with lots of blank pages. I remember buying this diary for my A Level art project two years back, for a 'personal diary' project. I needed a diary that looked authentic and would work beautifully for my photography. But I use it now as my occasional place to write my thoughts, any personal to-do lists and even quotes for that extra motivation!
Hopefully the weather will calm. After a few days stuck indoors I managed to get out a few times during this week. It's been nice just to get out to stretch my legs and get some fresh air.
I should start on that to-do list!
Does anyone have any big plans? Any to-do lists that need writing?
