I was planning on publishing my new year goals post on the first day of 2017 but the first week of January wasn't quite how I expected it to be. I've been run down with the dreaded cold again and then a trip to the doctors to be told I have severe chilblains in my fingers. Oh how lovely. I love the Winter but it doesn't seem like my fingers and toes want to agree with me on that one. But I'm slowly getting better, with plenty of cups of tea, soups, warm clothes and a special chilblain cream!
So I'm starting again this week, second week of January and I want to get back on track again. I'm ready for a new start and to get back into a new routine. That doesn't necessary mean it all has to change straight away, I mean it's only the second week of January. But I've always liked the idea of using January as a way of planning ahead and writing down all those to-do lists. Not to mention having a big clear out and sorting through all the things that I no longer use and giving some clothes to charity.
This year for me it's all about making plenty of stick to goals, just a couple of simple goals I want to achieve this year and I think making these goals are the perfect way to start off January!
Dedicate more time to doing what I love the most, which is writing and shooting for my blog. I started 'An Enthusiasm For' a year a go and now I want to expand this little space on the internet into something that can be filled with more inspiration and passions and that's what 'An Enthusiasm For' is all about. Last year I was focused on finding out what I really wanted to do career wise, after dropping out of university I had a lot of time just to think about everything and get advice from others. Now I hope I can focus on working on my own work and seeing where that can take me!
Believe in myself more rather than lose hope and thinking I can't do something when in fact I can. A lot of the time last year I would get myself so down that I just thought I would be a failure at everything. I kept thinking about how I had made some really rubbish decisions, which always set me back and I was back to square one again. Onwards and upwards, I want to focus on having more self belief and to have more confidence in myself.
Try something new. I remember back in Sixth Form (3 years ago) seeing everyone around me learning how to drive. Back then I was more focusing on my work and focusing on getting myself back on track after a bout of anxiety attacks, so I didn't really get the chance to start thinking about driving lessons. After saving up some money I am now ready to start those lessons, I'm hoping to pass my test this year.
Read more! I have told myself countless times that I really want to get back into reading again, last year was poor I honestly must have read 2 books. I received some books for Christmas so I don't need any excuses not to get back into reading again!
Join in. There really is so many amazing bloggers, Instagramers, photographers, creative people out there. Last year I discovered lots of different chats on Twitter such as #theinstachat and #blogospherechat, and I've enjoyed getting to know other fellow bloggers. This year I really want to get involved, whether that be in Twitter chats or be involved in a collaboration, I'd really like to join in more with the blogging community.
