Finally a favourites post! I can't believe how quick January flew by, it was a pretty busy and hectic month, I have to say. I wanted to start the year with a positive outlook, to start fresh and take on new challenges which I did! I started driving lessons which I knew I would be very nervous about so I'm proud of myself for sticking at it and not giving up even if it feels like it's taking ages to get the hang of it.
We're also getting closer and closer to Spring, which I can't express enough how excited I am to see Spring. The sun has been shining more and I've started to see shoots of daffodils whilst out for a walk. I like Winter but for me it's dragged on for too long, we only had one (half) day of snow and we're had plenty of rain with the dull grey dark sky. So I'm definitely counting down the days to Spring. One thing I loved most about January were the sales! I did manage to pick up a few things so without further ado here is my January favourites!
My skin in the Winter is very dry and sensitive. Even more so now that I have been using Isotrex which is a cream form of Isotretinoin for acne, so I have to take extra care of my skin. Whilst my face hasn't been too bad this side of Winter, my hands have been the worst for the past couple of months.
One thing that was missing from my skincare products was a hand cream. Currently I have been using the Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula cream which has worked wonders on my skin. I hate that oily feeling after using hand cream but this one is really quick drying which is my number one thing I look out for when searching for a hand cream. It doesn't sting either which is usually a problem for me seeing as I have such sensitive skin, oh and not to mention the smell is divine!
Each year I swear I always tell myself to start reading more and I never do, especially more at night seeing as I'm usually glued to my computer screen watching YouTube videos or flicking through Twitter. So at Christmas I had a big list of books on my list.
I am currently reading 'Always With Love' by Giovanna Fletcher. Why I never read Giovanni's books earlier I don't know, because I really love her writing style. I read 'Billy and Me' last year which was in Zoe's book club recommendations and I really loved it. I felt like I could connect with the main character and could see myself in her shoes at times. Overall I thought it was such a lovely book that I decided to start my list of books to read with the sequel!
I have been addicted to these raw healthy bars by Nakd. I have especially been loving the peanut delight which just tastes delicious, I definitely recommend if you're a fan of peanuts or peanut butter! They're perfect little bars for on the go, as a healthy snack and for a boost of energy. They have absolutely no added sugar and are made with raw fruits and nuts which is perfect for me as I'm trying to keep up with the healthy eating.
I'm currently loving two shades and my go to make up at the moment has to be Rimmel not to mention there is a 2 for £10 so I couldn't resist a good offer! I'm aware these aren't relatively new releases but I was more on the look out for colours that would suit me, nothing too bright and keeping it rather natural with the more pinkish nude tones. I used to have such a big collection of make up, never used them and gave a lot away to family. But I'm now looking to build my make up collection back up ready for Spring!
I have been looking for the perfect planner for ages! I always used to write my to-do lists either on a plain piece of paper, a page torn out from a notebook or typed up in notes on my iPad or phone. But everything seemed to get in a bit of a jumble and I ended up losing those lists! When Zoe released her lifestyle range I had my eye on this planner and I decided to buy it when Boots had their big January sale.
I love everything about this planner, the colours, size, space to write, the fact that you can pull out the pages and the quote on the front of the planner. It's perfect for when I'm in a hurry and need to quickly jot some notes down and when I need to make a to-do list for the day I can simply tick off when I've completed that task!
