March in Quotes

Happy April! I can't believe how quickly March flew by, although I feel like I always say this about all the months as they go by.

Rather than a usual monthly favourites post, which if I'm going to be honest there just wouldn't be enough to show because I've been good on holding back the shopping trips for once! But this time I wanted to do something a little different. Lately I've been finding lots of inspiration quotes on Pinterest and even incorporating them into my Instagram posts. Because even just a little reminder can make such a big difference, so without futher ado here are some of the quotes that inspired me over the past couple of weeks or so!

"Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you" - Walt Whitman

A little reminder to stay positive, to look forward and put all of your troubles behind you!

"It was one of those March days when the sun shines bright and the wind blows cold: when it is Summer in the light, and Winter in the shade." - Great Expectations

I felt like Winter was never ending, I love the colder months but it got to that point where I just had enough. It definitely started to warm up halfway through March, so the transition from Winter to Spring was just perfect! I love that balance between the warmth of the sun and the coolness in the shade, so touch wood the weather stays exactly how it has been for the past couple of weeks!

"When it rains look for rainbows, when it's dark look for stars." - Unknown

Sometimes we just can't help it if something goes wrong or our day doesn't go according to plan. I was out with the whole family one weekend and our day just seemed to have gone completely wrong and what we had planned to do was turned upside down. But that didn't mean we couldn't still have a good day! And instead we managed to change it up a bit and keep on the positive side!

"Not all those who wander are lost" - J.R.R. Tolkien

In my last post I wrote briefly how I would love to be able to travel more and go out and explore new places. I was on a walk through a woodland trail that I haven't walked in ages and as I was wandering through the trail I was thinking about how much more often I'd like to be out in the open. Definitely going to be planning for some woodland/forest trips in the Summer!

"Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and think of what could go right." - Unknown

My take on this year is all about having a different perspective on things, taking on more opportunities and creating more chances rather than holding back and literally saying no to everything. I wrote a whole post recently all about just going for it and stepping out of that comfort zone every now and then. And one day last month I felt like I wasn't going to be able to keep hold of that momentum, until I remembered that even if I give something a go and it doesn't work out at least I can say that I tried and didn't give myself a chance to give up.

What quotes have inspired you lately?

  5. The fact that you wrote a little paragraph about how each quote relates back to your life really makes me smile! I love reading the classic, monthly favourites, but seeing something like this is a nice change. I'm kind of getting sick of the cold too, but over here in Canada the weather literally has been swinging between -10 and +10... Loving your cute blog :)
