Slow Lived Summer: Things To See & Do

As part of my slow lived Summer, I want to spend this Summer focusing on doing things that make me feel happy and relaxed. It's been a stressful couple of weeks as I've been racing around going to different job interviews each week, which I've been getting myself worked up about them causing my anxiety levels to increase.

The last thing I want to do this Summer is to feel anxious and stressed out. Usually when I feel that way I make sure I can take my mind off of anything that's worrying me buy doing some of my favourite activities. So I've created a list of things to see and do this Summer!

BE ADVENTUROUS

:: Visit a coastal town and beach. There's nothing like spending a Summer's day at the beach with an ice cream or  a cone of chips!

:: Go out adventuring on a nature trail where everything is green and peaceful. I've always found it so relaxing to go out for walks, especially in the Summer where the sun peers through the trees and if there is a slight breeze the sound of the trees waving in the wind is so calming.

:: Visit a botanical garden and walk amongst the flowers. I love visiting gardens in the Summer, when all the flowers are in bloom in many different colours! I've mentioned Trentham Gardens on the blog before which has to be one of my favourite gardens to visit that is not too far of a drive away. Another gardens on my list is Castle Ashby which have beautiful Italian gardens, trails, butterfly gardens and even a menagerie with Meerkats and other small animals! Which is definitely one of the main reasons to visit!

:: Visit a local farm and pick your own fresh fruit or veg. I've always wanted to go strawberry picking. We have a small strawberry plant in the garden and just recently picked a couple of strawberries! But I would love to visit a farm where I can pick an array of different fruits to bring home and make into something delicious!

BE CREATIVE

:: Grab your camera and start a new photo project. My photos in the Summer are mainly of the beautiful flowers that are in bloom or beaches and coastal towns when I'm on my holidays travels. I've always preferred taking photos in the Autumn because I love the warm colours of oranges and browns. But for Summer I would love to experiment with the Summer light!

:: Gather and forage wildflowers and make your own posies.

:: Start a new project for the house or garden.

:: Make your own Summer drinks such as smoothies, flavoured waters, iced coffees, milkshakes and so on! There are so many different recipes to find over on Pinterest, whilst you can find some delicious drinks in the shops, I've always found it more fun to create my own drinks!

AND RELAX

:: Start a new book, look at a magazine or catch up on some new blogs and read outside. I've been working on my laptop outside when it's been too warm indoors.

:: Watch Wimbledon with plenty of strawberries and cream. (Or just stick with the strawberries and cream if you don't watch tennis!)

:: Create a new music playlist for listening to whilst your working or out and about!

:: Have a picnic in your garden or at the park and even make your own homemade treats. Once again Pinterest always has some fabulous ideas for if you want to create your own picnics and BBQ's. I've always wanted to set up a little tepee and have lunch outside. I loved Zoe's idea of a picnic party which she posted about last year!
